About the book:
I don’t know what I was thinking when I hired someone to attack me. Maybe I was bored, or lonely, or there was a void so deep inside of me that I needed something explosive to fill it.
It was supposed to be safe. A thrill. A way to break through the monotony of everyday life. It was an illusion of danger that I could walk away from as soon as it was over.
Except that it wasn’t. Because I had been in danger long before I ever invited it into my life.
My mission is almost complete. The bubbling boil of vengeance that heats my blood might finally simmer.
She is the last piece of the puzzle. Once I destroy her, everyone who ever hurt me will have paid their debt.
It was supposed to be quick and easy, but as soon as I met her it got complicated.

What I think?
5 owns me stars
I loved this book. I fucking loved this book. Very few books get my heart to race as fast as this did, and it was sinfully sexy in addition. Perhaps too sinful.
“This isn’t that kind of debt. There’s no refuge, you can’t file for bankruptcy. This kind of debt follows you to your grave.”
Mia Tibett is a successful woman who works in a factory that makes toys for female satisfaction (basically a dildo factory). Despite having a good life, great friends she craves for more. Her dating life is basically non-existent because men don’t seem to attract her, and when her best friend Tiff tells her about a deep website where you can hire rapists for a charge, and basically fulfill your “rape fantasy”, she finds herself far too tempted.
“I didn’t just want rough, I wanted painful, I wanted degradation. I wanted someone to take me out of my head. No—force me out of my head. To violently thrust me away from convention. I am so “together” and I have always wanted to find someone who would make me a chaotic mess.”
After debating with herself for a long time, she decides to give it a go, and regrets is immediately. And that is when shit changes.
She decides to stop it when the time comes, but when she is assaulted, she assumes it is the man she paid to attack her and loses herself in the moment to lust and desire.
Little does she know that the that very particular night ended far too pleasurable for her. The man who “assaulted” her had visited her that night to collect a debt she owed him. For the last 14 years.
“What kind of a name is Tax?”
“It’s the name of a person who always collects a debt.”
Tax Draconi had lived a life that had hardened him into a psychopath, with just a single thing in mind- revenge. 14 years ago, one night destroyed him and his twin sister, and they have spent every single day after it avenging the wrong done to them. They have stolen. They have killed. And the closure he seeks- the final link to finish his vendetta is Mia.
A girl accused for a deed she is completely unaware of.
Little are they aware of the future that awaits them.
We defied fate, who stepped in long ago and did everything in her power to keep us apart. Like two comets headed for a collision, our trajectory could not be stopped. We kept finding a way back.”
I have no words for this book. The author has delivered this story so masterfully- the language was an absolute treat. It was so damn touching, I could feel them both struggle with the situation they were put in. And the sex. It. Was. HOT. All in all, this is most definitely going to be one of my favorite Dark Romance reads. Mia and Tax made a fantastic couple, and neither of them made me question their behavior at any point of the time.
And let me just take a moment out to talk about that cover- It. Is. Fucking. Gorgeous.
Love love love this. And saying it enough times is never going to be enough.
“Every choice, every kiss, every subtle nudge was destined for our inevitable impact. Fate thought she was pulling us apart, when all along, she was setting the path for spectacular crash. An eruption, a nova, a big bang, a constellation—That’s what we are. We are the thing of beauty created from catastrophe. We are the light burning bright, forged from an impossible collection of coincidences.”
